Q. Can X Caliber diagnose diseases?
A. X Caliber serves as an imaging interpretation aid to assist veterinarians in making a final diagnosis. It provides a DDX (differential diagnosis) report based on radiographic findings. For accurate diagnosis, it is recommended to combine this information with the patient's clinical syntoms, medical history, and results from other diagnostic tests.
Q. Why didn't the X Caliber AI detect a condition in an image that clearly shows signs of a disease?
A. If the condition falls outside the scope of diseases currently supported by X Caliber, it may not detect certain diseases. Additionally, improper positioning or the presence of obstructive objects (e.g., surgical tools, catheters, hands, etc.) within the image can make interpretation difficult.
Q. Are there any images that cannot be interpreted?
A. Currently, the musculoskeletal system has been trained primarily on limb(hindlimb) radiographs. As a result, interpretation accuracy is lower for areas such as the head, neck, spine, and forelimbs.
Additionally, images with significant interference, such as visible human hands, contrast agents in the gastrointestinal or urinary systems, surgical instruments, or those with underexposure or overexposure, tend to have lower interpretation accuracy.

Q. Can the interpretation vary for the same patient's radiographs depending on image orientation (e.g., flipped vertically/horizontally) or the range of the captured area?
A. X-ray datasets used for deep learning are standardized. Therefore, to obtain accurate diagnostic results, it is important to ensure the correct orientation and coverage of the area being analyzed
Orientation Guidelines:
Lateral View: The patient's head should be on the left side of the image, and the spine should be at the top of the image.
Dorsoventral/Ventrodorsal View: The patient's head or proximal part should be at the top of the image, and the patient's left side should appear on the right side of the image.
Range Guidelines:
Thoracic Range: From the temporomandibular joint to the last rib.
Abdominal Range: From the xiphoid process (end of the sternum) to the end of the pelvis.
Musculoskeletal Range (Hindlimb):
Hip Joint: Entire pelvis to the middle of the femur.
Stifle Joint: From the hip joint to the hock joint (for large dogs, from the middle of the femur to the middle of the tibia and fibula).
Ensuring adherence to these guidelines will significantly improve diagnostic accuracy.

Q. In the thoracic radiograph interpretation, "generalized cardiomegaly" is indicated, but the VHS measurement falls within the normal range. Which result should be trusted?
A. The apparent width of the thoracic cavity on radiographs can vary depending on the phase of respiration, potentially influencing the visual assessment of heart size. Additionally, VHS normal ranges may differ by breed.
However, since VHS provides an objective measurement, it is generally more reliable. Still, it is recommended to consider both findings comprehensively for an accurate evaluation.

Q. If there are different findings between lateral and dorsoventral/ventrodorsal views, which one should be trusted?
A. Findings visible on the lateral view may not appear on the dorsoventral/ventrodorsal view, and vice versa. It is recommended to consider both findings comprehensively to guide your diagnosis.
Q. What does the percentage in the Analysis diagnostic items represent?
A. Based on deep learning technology, the AI provides an objective probability score indicating the likelihood of the diagnostic item being present.
Q. What is the Threshold feature?
A. AI diagnostic items are listed in order of high to low probability. The Threshold feature allows you to filter out items with lower probabilities.
Q. Is it possible to select only the items you agree to for AI interpretation?
A. In the Modify section next to Analysis Detail, you can remove findings you do not agree with by selecting the Remove option.
Q. Will the range of diagnoses for X Caliber be expanded in the future?
A. New features, such as VLAS, CTR, TPA, and Norberg angle, have been released in the automatic measurement AI system, and efforts are being made to improve its performance (e.g., increasing the average thoracic sensitivity from 88% to 89%).
Additionally, continuous training is underway to expand diagnostic categories within the thoracic, abdominal, and musculoskeletal systems.

Q. Is it possible to interpret radiographs for young puppies and kittens?
A. Young puppies and kittens may exhibit lower accuracy in thoracic, abdominal, and musculoskeletal imaging due to their growing characteristics.
For example, in abdominal AI analysis of young puppies, findings such as hepatomegaly or decreased serosal detail might be erroneously suggested.
For example, in abdominal AI analysis of young puppies, findings such as hepatomegaly or decreased serosal detail might be erroneously suggested.
Q. Is it possible to provide imaging services for animals other than dogs and cats?
A. Currently, services are limited to dogs and cats only.
Q. Can radiographs of patients wearing bandages, clothing, or wrapped in blankets still be interpreted accurately?
A. The accuracy may be compromised, so it is recommended to remove these items before taking radiographs.
Q. Is it possible to interpret abdominal findings on a thoracic radiograph or thoracic findings on an abdominal radiograph?
A. Deep learning models are standardized, so you must input radiographs that match the exact scope for each specific model to ensure accurate interpretation.
Q. Do we absolutely need to adhere to taking thoracic radiographs during inspiration and abdominal radiographs during expiration?
A. As a measure to enhance imaging accuracy, it is recommended to adhere to these guidelines whenever possible. For the lungs, variations in density could lead to misinterpretation as pulmonary lesions.
